The Timberwolves are Kings

Author: Jorge Gonzalez

Minnesota won all four of its last visits, giving the Timberwolves the longest current win streak of any Kings opponent at Arco. Minnesota (8-6) are coming a 113-108 victory over the Lakers at the Staple Center on Friday night. Wally Szczerbiak scored a game-high 34 points and Kevin Garnett added 29 as the Timberwolves came back to beat the Lakers after trailing by 18 points early on I the contest. K.G. has been dominant over the last two games scoring 58 points and pulling down 21 rebounds. "KG just has been phenomenal," said Szczerbiak. "Everyone has kind of taken a step back because he's been such a post presence. You can't help but get him the ball down low." Minnesota will be looking for just their third victory on the road so far this season. The T-Wolves have won and covered their three of their last four contests.

The Kings are paging Stojakovic. Sacramento (7-9) is hoping hoping Peja Stojakovic can improve his play in time to help them avoid a third straight loss. In his last three games, Stojakovic has made just 7-of-34 shots. He went 3-for-16, finishing with 11 points in 40 minutes against Heat as the Kings were blown out 98-87 in Arco Arena. "We couldn't make a big shot, especially me," Stojakovic said. "I'm trying to be aggressive, but my shot didn't look good. My finger is feeling better every day, but I'm struggling right now." Over the last three years the Kings have responded when losing by ten or more points by covering the spread in 23 of the following 33 contests. Despite their recent loss the Kings have been cashing in tickets for their backers covering six of their last nine games.
